Fun in Frankenmuth

To celebrate our 10th anniversary Andy and I wanted to do something special and spend some good quality time together as a couple. My mom was so sweet and offered to keep all four kids for us. In fact, she had planned months in advance to keep them for us on our anniversary weekend so we had no choice but to take full advantage of her generous offer. We decided (or rather I decided) it would be fun to go to Frankemuth and stay at the Bavarian Inn. And, I was right, we had a fantastic time!

This is the part of the Inn that we stayed in, on the third floor. We had a whirlpool room and a balcony. Of course it was too cold to enjoy the balcony much, but we still posed for a quick picture.

We couldn't check in until 3:00 p.m. Saturday so we did a little shopping at Burch Run and then stopped into Bronner's. I wanted to get Sydney her baby ornament. We also picked out an odorable family ornament that was personalized with our last name. It has 6 little moose on it with dangly feet. I just love it! Here we are in line waiting to get the ornaments personalized. They do such a great job!

Once we checked into the hotel we never left until it was time to go home. Everything we needed or wanted to do was right there. First we had dinner in one of their many resturants. It was actually a lounge that we ended up going back to later for some wonderful entertainment. They had a musician who sang and played the guitar. He was amazing, and come to find out he knows a guy who lives just a few miles from us! Small world!! We also played a little putt-putt golf and some arcade games down in the Family Fun room. This place has everything for every age!

The next day we got up and had breakfast, checked out and decided to do a little shopping around Frankenmuth before we headed home. We shopped at the Castle Shops which is part of the Bavarian Inn. We also checked out a few little boutiques where Andy found this wonderful coyote hat. And of course I just had to get myself some fudge.

We had an amazing time and truly enjoyed each others company. We almost felt like newly weds again...almost!

So glad you enjoyed your weekend!

You did buy Andy that hat right? I think it is a perfect hat to go with his Sunday best. :)
